Propecia safety and precautions

Propecia is strictly forbidden to be used by women or children. Even handling the tablets should be avoided, because the active elements of Propecia easily absorb into the skin if the tablet is crushed.

Strict restrictions on the use of Propecia by women are caused by the ability to deliver severe birth defects to the unborn child during pregnancy. That is why Propecia pills should get in contact or handled by pregnant women, or those planning it. The tablets should be intact, never crushed or chewed. If a woman accidently comes into contact with the contents of the tablet, she should wash the area of contact with large amounts of soap and water immediately.

Before you start taking Propecia, make sure you inform your doctor about any possible allergic reactions or hypersensitivity to any of this or similar drug's components. Also make sure to inform your physician about any of the following conditions if you have them:

• liver issues
• prostate cancer
• disorder of the bladder muscle
• stricture of the urethra
• inability to urinate

Never take larger amounts of the drug or consume it for longer periods of time than prescribed by your doctor. Never stop taking the drug even if you feel something strange – inform your doctor immediately. In case you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, you should seek medical assistance immediately: hives, swelling, or troubled breathing. In case you experience any odd sensations in the breasts you should also call your doctor immediately, as it may be the sign of male breast cancer.

Some of the less serious side effects observed with Propecia are:

• dizziness, lightheadedness
• swelling in the hands and feet
• unpleasant testicle sensations
• sexual dysfunction
• ejaculation abnormalities
• odd sensations in breasts
• headache
• runny nose
• skin rash
